Intel Core processor owners will benefit from being able to use the stock kernel from Apple without modification as well as unmodified kexts. This means they can install a Software Update system update without fear of breaking their computer.

Other users can benefit from the use of unmodified kexts used in conjunction with a modified kernel.

To use a stock kernel you need a Core family processor such as Core Duo, Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad with an Intel motherboard and perhaps 3rd party with Intel chipsets.

Anyone else that can run Tiger/Leopard, (SSE2/SSE3 Intel/AMD users), can also use this EFI update for stock Kernel Extensions (kexts).
